About MIBICI
MIBICI is a public transportation system located in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, based on the rentals of bicycles available at stations arranged as network at the urban centralities most important of the city. MIBICI system works from 6:00 to 00:00 hours, being adjusted to the service hours of other mass transportation services.
MIBICI is a supplement or extension to other transportation systems that promotes the intermodal transportation and is designed to complete the needs of mobility of the inhabitants and visitors of the city.
About IMTJ
Mobility and Transportation Institute for the State of Jalisco (IMTJ) is a decentralized public body of the Executive Power of the State, with legal capacity and own property, whose main purpose is to promote sustainable mobility and transportation, throughout development and execution of planning actions, projects, designs, research and monitor of mobility and transportation of persons, goods and services in the State of Jalisco.
Therefore the IMTJ performs a coordinated effort with entities of the Executive Power of the State to design, implement and asses Public Policies oriented to Sustainable Mobility, by means of the implementation of a System of Public Bicycles MIBICI (SBP)
The first foundation of SBP MIBICI is at the National Plan of Development, where the Objective 9.9 and Strategy 4.9.1 on its line of action for urban massive transportation, establishing: Promote the use of massive transportation through complementary measures of pedestrian transportation, use of bicycles and rationalization of the automobile use.
Likewise, this policy addresses the State Plan of Development PED Jalisco 2013-2033, regarding the dimension of Sustainable Environment and Life, Sustainable Mobility topic, where the Objective OD603 is focused, the need of having alternatives for collective and massive transportation, being of quality, safe and efficient; otherwise it specify the Strategy E4 the need to implement programs to borrow public bicycles.
